p>Yanga stars Pacome Zouzoua and Duke Abuya were both on the field yesterday as their national teams, Ivory Coast and Kenya, faced off in the final match of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Both players came on as substitutes in the second half — Pacome entered in the 61st minute, while Abuya was introduced in the 67th minute.
It was Pacome who left the pitch in celebration, as Ivory Coast secured a convincing 3–0 victory, guaranteeing their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in the United States next year.
Pacome has become the first player from Tanzania’s Premier League whose national team has qualified for the World Cup finals.
He now has the opportunity to make even greater history by participating in the global tournament set for June 2026.
