Yanga SC President, Engineer Hersi Said, is currently in the Democratic Republic of Congo attending a Confederation of African Football (CAF) meeting, also in his capacity as the President of the African Clubs Association (ACA).
However, behind his official trip, the eyes and ears of Yanga supporters remain fixed on him, awaiting his decision regarding the future of Head Coach Romain Folz.
Reports from within the club indicate that Hersi holds the final say on the fate of the French coach, who is currently facing heavy criticism from fans and some club officials dissatisfied with his tactics.
According to a source inside the club, no official decision has been made yet, and the matter will be concluded once Hersi returns from DR Congo.
“You know, only the President has the final decision. There are those who oppose the coach and those who support him. The President has listened to both sides, but he has not made a ruling yet. We’re waiting for him to return so we’ll know whether the coach stays or not,” a source was quoted by Mwanaspoti.
As the pressure continues to mount, Folz was expected to return on Sunday from his short break in South Africa. He is scheduled to lead Yanga’s training session today after a three-day rest following the FIFA international calendar break.
The French coach still has an opportunity to show a new direction during this crucial period, especially with the upcoming matches set to determine Yanga’s qualification for the CAF Champions League group stage.
