Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, said the club has heard the concerns of fans in Mbeya who were unhappy with the team’s performance in the Premier League match against Mbeya City at Sokoine Stadium.
Yanga were held to a goalless draw, a game they could have won in the dying minutes if not for the brilliance of goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, who made a crucial save.
After the match, some Yanga supporters were heard voicing criticism of head coach Romain Folz.
“It was a tough game and we shared points with our opponents, Mbeya City. We have heard the complaints from our fans. They did their part, came out in large numbers to the stadium, and gave their feedback,” Kamwe said.
“As fans, they fulfilled their role; the technical bench also did their job, and even the management is playing its part. So, let us stay calm and not rush,” he added.
Speaking after the match, Yanga head coach Romain Folz admitted he faced difficulties in preparing his team tactically due to the condition of the pitch.
“Honestly, it was difficult for me as a coach because the pitch did not allow football to be played. This was my first time facing such conditions,” said Folz.
“My players put in a big effort, but it was not easy to score despite creating many chances,” he added.
