The Executive Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has appointed Oscar Mirambo, the Federation’s Technical Director, as Acting Secretary General effective October 1, 2025.
This appointment follows the expiry of the contract of outgoing Secretary General Wilfred Kidao, whose tenure will officially end on September 30, 2025.
A statement released by TFF earlier today confirmed the decision, noting that Mirambo will continue to oversee the responsibilities of the Secretary General’s office alongside his technical role until a permanent appointment is made.
Mirambo is a well-known figure in youth football and technical development in Tanzania, having led several programs focused on talent development and training football coaches. His experience is expected to strengthen the administrative sector of TFF.
Last season, Wilfred Kidao’s name featured prominently in a dispute between Yanga SC and TFF officials regarding match number 184 between Yanga and Simba, which was originally scheduled for March 8 but postponed.
Yanga proposed the removal of certain officials, including Kidao, then-League Board Chairman Steven Mguto, and former League Board Secretary General Almas Kasongo, as part of efforts to resolve the standoff. The matter was eventually settled, and the match was played on June 25, with Yanga securing a 2-0 victory.
