After nearly two seasons, Yanga will return to the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Wednesday to play their Premier League match against Pamba Jiji.
Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has called on fans to turn out in large numbers for the season opener to help the team start strongly in their campaign to defend the league title for another season.
Kamwe urged supporters to purchase their tickets early, emphasizing that it will be a special opportunity to see all the players and the complete technical bench led by head coach Romain Folz.
“This is not just Yanga’s first league match, but the official opening game of the 2025/26 Premier League season between Yanga and Pamba Jiji at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium,” he said.
“Pamba Jiji is a much-improved team compared to last season. They are full of talented young players and managed to earn a draw away against Namungo FC in their last match.”
“But our determination is to start the season strongly by securing a win against Pamba Jiji,” Kamwe added.
