Despite securing a 3-0 victory against Wiliete in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round, Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Romain Folz insists there is still work to be done, particularly in finishing chances.
Folz said that if his strikers had been more clinical, they could have sealed the game in the first half alone.
“We scored three goals, which is a good win, but I think we could have done even more. In the first half alone, we could have scored three or more goals, but we didn’t take advantage of the many chances we created.”
“It was the same in the second half, but at least we managed to score two goals. It’s still early, we will continue to improve, and winning 3-0 away from home is not bad,” Folz said.
Striker Prince Dube will likely feel most disappointed after missing several clear opportunities in the game, though he did manage to score once. The other goals came from Aziz Andabwile and Edmund John.
Yanga will only need a win or any draw in the return leg to progress to the first round.
