A few days ago, a new chapter was written in the history of Young Africans SC. After a long wait, the giant club in Tanzania was officially handed the title deed for the Jangwani plot that will be used to build their modern stadium.
The handover ceremony, held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium during the climax of the *Wiki ya Mwananchi* celebrations, has opened a new page of development within the club and raised hope among fans that the long-awaited dream of owning a state-of-the-art stadium is now closer to reality.
Recently, Yanga’s Executive Committee convened at the club’s headquarters in Jangwani to discuss various matters concerning the club’s progress. The meeting took place just one day after receiving the deed to the 37,500-square-meter plot, a crucial step toward the stadium’s construction.
The club’s sponsor and benefactor, Ghalib Said Mohammed (GSM), has officially approved the supporters’ request to finance the project. The stadium is expected to accommodate more than 20,000 fans.
This is a landmark project of historic value, as for the first time, Yanga fans will have their permanent home in the heart of Dar es Salaam.
Yanga president, Engineer Hersi Said, has assured members and supporters that the construction of the Jangwani Stadium is his top priority. He has promised that before his term in office ends, he will ensure this dream becomes a reality.
The Jangwani Stadium will not only be a venue for football. It will stand as a symbol of pride, a legacy for future generations, and a testament to the stature of a club with a rich history in Tanzanian and African football.
