Libyan giants Al Ahly Tripoli have shown serious intent to sign Young Africans’ star striker Clement Mzize, but their efforts have hit a wall.
A high-powered delegation led by club president Mohamed Al-Mashai and wealthy benefactor Prof. Ismail Al-Shtiwi traveled to Tanzania for face-to-face talks with Yanga’s leadership. Their main objective was to convince the Tanzanian champions to release their forward.
However, sources within Yanga confirm the club remains steadfast in its decision not to sell Mzize, prioritizing its continental ambitions this season over any transfer offer.
The club has set its sights on excelling in the CAF Champions League and other CAF competitions, a mission that leaves no room for negotiations over their key asset.
To reinforce their commitment and motivate the player, Yanga have already improved Mzize’s salary package and performance-related bonuses. This move aims to provide fresh incentive as he prepares to lead the club’s attack in the new season.
With two years still remaining on his contract, Yanga president Engineer Hersi Said has made it clear: Mzize will honor his deal and continue serving the club.
