Yanga SC’s lethal striker, Clement Mzize, has become one of the most sought-after players in the current transfer window, with the club confirming it has received multiple offers for his services both locally and abroad.
According to inside sources, Yanga has so far received seven formal offers from different clubs, with Tunisian giants Esperance leading the chase with a bid worth Tsh 2.6 billion. However, no agreement has been reached yet.
It is understood that the Tanzanian champions have temporarily shelved plans to sell Mzize and instead opened talks to improve his contract in an effort to keep him at the club.
Yanga has made it clear that its main target for the upcoming season is to make a strong run in the CAF Champions League, which requires maintaining a strong and competitive squad filled with top-quality players.
Club president Eng. Hersi Said has repeatedly emphasized that Yanga’s priority is to convince their star players to stay, and only if those efforts fail would the club consider entertaining offers from abroad.
Sources indicate that negotiations with Mzize are already underway, with the club tabling a new offer including an improved salary and bonuses. Should he agree to the new terms, Yanga fans could be set to watch the striker continue banging in goals both in the NBC Premier League and on the continental stage.
