Yanga’s fitness coach, Chyna Mokaila, today led the team through an intense beach training session as part of a special program designed to build physical endurance and overall fitness.
Currently in their second week of pre-season, Chyna has maintained a strict schedule aimed at improving players’ strength, stamina, and recovery ahead of the demanding 2025/26 campaign.
According to Chyna, beach workouts provide unique resistance that helps players gain the conditioning required to last 90 minutes or more while minimizing the risk of injuries.
"The main goal of this session is to enhance the players’ fitness levels. They are coming from an off-season break, so it’s crucial to transition their bodies back into competition mode. Training on sand tests their endurance in a different way and ensures they are ready to deliver without injuries," he said.
"Normally, I would take them to the gym at this stage, but today I wanted to change the environment and see how they adapt to the demands of beach training," added Chyna.
He emphasized that Yanga’s stature demands 100% commitment, expressing his satisfaction with the squad’s work ethic and discipline.
Yanga resumed training yesterday after their 3-1 victory over Rayon Sports in Kigali last Friday, which saw them lift the Rayon Day trophy. The team continues with a two-session program each day—morning fitness sessions followed by tactical drills in the evening.
