The Tanzania Premier League Board has released the 2025/26 competition calendar, with the Community Shield set to open the new season.
Defending champions Yanga, alongside Simba, Azam, and Singida Black Stars, will battle it out from September 11 to 14 this year.
According to the regulations, in the semi-final fixtures, Yanga will face Azam FC, while Simba will go up against Singida Black Stars.
This matchup mirrors last season’s final, where Yanga claimed the Shield with a dominant 4-1 victory over Azam FC.
In that same season, Yanga played the semi-final against Simba, who had finished third, and secured a 1-0 win.
This time around, Yanga meets Azam FC again in a match that will feature two new head coaches in the Premier League.
Romain Folz will lead Yanga, while Florent Ibenge will be at the helm for Azam FC—undoubtedly a match with the feel of a final.
The winner of that match will advance to the final on September 14, where they will face the victor between Simba and Singida Black Stars.
Yanga boasts an impressive record in the tournament, having won the Shield three times in the past four seasons.
