Yanga SC is reportedly in a strong position to sign Simba captain Mohammed Hussein ‘Zimbwe Jr’ after offering him a more lucrative deal than that presented by his current club.
Insider sources reveal that Zimbwe Jr, who is currently with the national team preparing for the CHAN 2024 tournament in Egypt, has already been given Yanga’s contract, with the only thing remaining being his signature and return of the signed document.
Since two days ago, Simba’s officials have been scrambling to convince him to sign a contract, but the offer they put on the table was not convincing enough.
It is said that two days ago, he removed his identification as a Simba player from his social media accounts after contract talks with his employers failed to reach an agreement.
Yesterday, during an interview with EFM, Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe said that Zimbwe Jr is a quality player that any ambitious club would want to have.
“I haven’t yet received official confirmation whether Mohammed Hussein has been signed or not, but personally, I would be happy if my club signs Zimbwe Jr,” said Kamwe.
In recommendations for squad improvements left by coach Miloud Hamdi, he advised the signing of another left-back to support Chadrack Boka.
