So far, two foreign players have officially parted ways with Yanga SC, and their positions are set to be filled during the ongoing transfer window, which opened on July 1.
Striker Kennedy Musonda has joined a club in Russia, while midfield star Stephane Aziz Ki has completed a move to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.
Out of the 12 foreign players Yanga signed last season, 10 remain, and decisions about their futures will be based on the team’s needs ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The remaining players include goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, defenders Chadrack Boka and Yao Kouassi, midfielders Khalid Aucho, Duke Abuya, Maxi Nzengeli, Clatous Chama, and Pacome Zouazoua, along with forwards Prince Dube and Jonathan Ikangalombo.
Diarra, Boka, Ikangalombo, and Dube are still under contract. However, contracts for Yao, Aucho, Duke, Maxi, Chama, and Pacome have expired.
According to reports from within the club, Yanga has already extended contracts for Pacome, Maxi, and Aucho. Duke Abuya is also expected to renew his deal shortly.
Yao has received a one-year contract extension, although it remains unclear if he will be registered for the new season due to his ongoing injury recovery.
Yanga is expected to add four to five new foreign players in this window. To accommodate this, the club will need to release two players for four new slots or three players to open up five.
