Zambian striker Kennedy Musonda is ready for a new challenge after his contract with Yanga SC came to an end.
According to inside sources, he will not be part of the "Wananchi" squad for the upcoming season.
Musonda joined Yanga SC from Zambia's Power Dynamos and played for the club for two and a half seasons, contributing to the team's major successes, including multiple domestic titles and strong performances in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
However, his journey with Yanga was marred by recurring injuries, which kept him out of action for extended periods during the past season.
Sources close to the club revealed that Musonda missed most of the matches in the 2024/25 season and was completely absent from the end-of-season fixtures due to health-related reasons.
"Musonda has been struggling with injuries for some time, which limited his contribution to the team. His contract has expired, and the club has already decided not to renew it for the next season," a source stated.
His absence from the championship parade held on Monday in Jangwani further raised questions about his future, as it appeared he had exited the squad early.
Rumors from North African football circles suggest that Musonda is in talks with Libyan club Al Ittihad, which has expressed interest in signing him for the upcoming season.
