The Dar es Salaam Special Zone Police Force has heightened security measures ahead of the much-anticipated traditional rivalry match between Yanga SC and Simba SC, set to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Commander of the Special Zone Police, Jumanne Murilo, has assured citizens and football fans that they can come out in large numbers to enjoy the match without fear, emphasizing the importance of adhering to rules and regulations. He affirmed that sufficient security will be in place before, during, and after this crucial NBC Premier League fixture.
Commander Murilo issued a stern warning to anyone with intentions to disrupt the peace during this highly anticipated Kariakoo Derby, stressing that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to apprehend and take action against offenders.
βWe will not tolerate anyone engaging in criminal acts or inciting violence. We have deployed enough forces inside the stadium and in surrounding areas to ensure everything proceeds smoothly. Anyone with disruptive intentions should not dare come to the stadium,β said Commander Murilo.
This round-two league match, number 184, is effectively the title decider for the 2024/2025 season, with Yanga SC hosting the encounter that has gripped the attention of football fans across the country.
Immediately after the match, the league trophy presentation ceremony will be held at the stadium for the crowned champions.
