As the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) is expected at any moment to announce crucial and sensitive information regarding NBC Premier League match number 184 between Yanga and Simba, *Wananchi* (Yanga supporters) remain calm as they await the Board’s next steps.
Yanga has not changed its position: before agreeing to play the match on any other date (other than June 15), the club demands the resignation of the Chief Executive Officer of the League Board and the Secretary General of TFF, as well as the dissolution of the 72-Hour Committee.
Speaking to Azam Media yesterday, League Board spokesperson Karim Boimanda stated that the Board will soon announce “crucial and sensitive” information that will conclude the entire preparation process for the highly anticipated match.
Alongside stating its position on the match, Yanga also announced measures it will take if its conditions are not met.
Yanga will not show up to play against Simba on June 15. Furthermore, due to its lack of confidence in the League Board, the club has declared that it will not participate in its next two scheduled matches against Tanzania Prisons and Dodoma Jiji. More drastically, Yanga says it will not take part in next season’s Premier League unless reforms are implemented.
Additionally, if *Wananchi* are not paid their prize money for winning last season’s CRDB Cup, they will not participate in the final match against Singida Black Stars, scheduled for June 28.
