Earlier today, the league board rescheduled match number 184 between Yanga and Simba which was supposed to be played on March 08 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
In the previous statement issued by the board when announcing the postponement of the match, they explained that there was an investigation into various issues. Among them are security threats and allegations of corruption
When Yanga wrote a letter to TPLB requesting action to be taken in accordance with the regulations, they were told that it was impossible because there are issues whose investigation has not been completed
The act of scheduling the match without making the results of the investigation public raises more questions
- How has the match schedule been scheduled without the results of the investigation being released? How will stakeholders believe if the reasons given earlier are true?
- Who caused the first match not to be played?
- What action has the board taken against the side that led to the match not being played on March 08?
- What is the fate of the fans who paid admission to witness the game?
It is clear that this matter is still very controversial especially when it seems that the authorities want the match to be played without accountability
