Yanga attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua has said the injuries he sustained in the Premier League match against Azam FC yesterday were not serious so he is hopeful that he will return to the field soon
Pacome scored the first goal in the match which Yanga emerged with a 2-1 victory at the Azam Complex Stadium
He was unable to continue the game in the 25th minute after being injured by Azam FC defender Lusajo Mwaikenda
"I suffered severe pain and was unable to continue the game but I don't think I was seriously injured," said Pacome
Yanga's Media and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe said Pacome will undergo tests to determine the type of injury and how long he can stay out to recover but he has shown good progress after the match so there are high hopes he will return to the field soon
This is the second time Pacome has sustained injuries in a match against Azam FC. Last season, he was injured in a match played on March 17 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, causing him to miss the crucial Champions League quarter-final match against Mamelodi Sundowns, staying out of the game for about three months.
