Defender Israel Mwenda can serve Yanga in the Champions League after the player was added to the Citizens' squad that participates in the competition
Yanga has completed the registration of Mwenda on time as was the case with winger Jonathan Ikangalombo who, however, played for AS Vita in the preliminary matches of the CAF Confederation Cup this season and thus lacked the qualification to play for Yanga in the tournament
However, Ikangalombo will be able to serve Yanga in the Premier League and FA Cup matches where he may start appearing in early February when the league returns
The League Board has already announced that the NBC PL matches will be played in the first week of February where Yanga will face Kagera Sugar in a game that will be played at the KMC Complex
Mwenda has landed at the right time in the Yanga squad as Yao Kouassi is injured and could be out for about six weeks
Mwenda is a patchy full back who can be used as a number 2 or number 3
