The opening game of the Mpumalanga International Cup between Yanga and Augsburg has ended with the Citizens accepting a 2-1 defeat in a fierce game played at the Mbombela stadium
It was a game of two halves, Augsburg dominating the first half while Yanga were better in the second half
Jean Baleke scored the only goal for Yanga in that game which probably could have equalized and even won the game due to the many opportunities they created in the second half
Augsburg is a team that participates in the German Premier League where last season they finished in 11th place
It was a good test for Yanga which did not have a long preparation time compared to their opponents who started the pre-season in the first week of July
The next game for Yanga is against TS Galaxy will be played on July 24, however this game will not be broadcast nor will fans be allowed to enter the stadium
