Yanga head coach Miguel Gamondi has said that injuries have been a major challenge for his team heading into the Champions League quarter-final against Mamelodi Sundowns to be played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium tomorrow Saturday
Speaking in a press conference before the game earlier today, Gamondi said he is not sure of getting the services of three to four players which is a blow to his team
"Players like Khalid Aucho, Yao Kouassi and Pacome Zouzoua are injured along with Kibwana Shomari who despite starting training is still not fit"
"Also, I have not yet seen Aziz Ki and Diarra, who I was informed are returning this morning from national team duties, this situation makes it difficult for us to prepare for our game with Mamelodi according to the state of the squad," said Gamondi
Despite these challenges, Gamondi has said that his team is ready for the game and it is a matter of his players being psychologically fit and fighting for the logo of the Yanga club
"The important thing for the players is to commit and give their all during the game. Mamelodi Sundowns is a good team and we must be careful to make sure we don't make mistakes that could cost us"
