Vice President of Yanga Arafat Haji has said in this season's CAF Champions League, they are prepared and have every reason to do well
Yanga has returned to the group stage of the champions league after waiting for 25 years. Last season the Citizens set a record of playing in the final of the CAF Confederations Cup and became the only team from Tanzania to wear a CAF medal t
Yanga fans have high expectations for their team to see what they did in the Confederation last season they repeat in the champions league
Arafat has said that the plans and strategies they have put in place are to see that they do well at least to reach the quarter-fina, Yanga being in Group D with the defending champions Al Ahly, CR Beluizdad and Medeama
Many believe that group D is difficult for Yanga due to the presence of champions Al Ahly and CR Belouizdad, who on average has been their norm to reach the quarter finals
However, Arafat said Yanga has a strong team that is ready to compete with any team in Africa and get good results
"Our team is ready to compete against anyone. We have the best players, many of whom have experience in big competitions"
"We have many players in the Tanzanian national team and in other countries who are capable of major competitions. We believe we can do well and go beyond the group stage," said Arafat
Yanga will start the group stage campaign away with a game against CR Belouizdad which will be played on November 25 in Algeria
