The striker who puts balls in the net in the Yanga squad, Fiston Mayele, said they need their fans in the Champions League game against Al Hilal which will be played on October 08 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
Yanga need to get a big win in the first leg game to put themselves in a good position to advance the group stage of the champions league after waiting for 24 years
Mayele, whom Al Hilal tried to sign in the last transfer window, said that Al Hilal benefit more from the power of their fans when they play at home, so Yanga fans should also fill the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on October 8 to motivate the players and ensure that they emerge with great victory
Mayele said he knows Al Hilal very well from the squad, the head coach Frolentine Ibenge who once coached AS Vita and fans, while assuring Yanga fans about the match and more importantly asking them to come to the field
"I followed their first round match against St. George of Ethiopia but I also know some people in that team, they are good on the field and outside they have fans with a spirit, so if Yanga unites we can defeat them"
"The fans are the 12th player to us, every Mwanayanga should come to the field that day, give us support as much as you can and we will fight to make sure we make them happy and put one foot ahead before the return leg," said Mayele
Mayele scored six goals (hat-trick X 2) in the Champions League preliminary stage game against Zalan Fc Yanga leaving with a total victory of 9-0
He is in top scoring form with 12 goals in seven competitive games this season
