Yanga Motivational Officer Antonio Nugaz said the game against Zanaco Fc has given them the right balance in preparation for the Champions League match against Rivers United to be played on September 12 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
Nugaz said the aim was not to get results only, but to show the fans their team and the coach to look at which players he could include in his first team
"The result didn't bother us much as the main goal was not. The whole activity was to introduce the players so that the fans could see them and the coach looking at the needs of his first team. Zanaco Fc is a good team they have given us the right measure"
"We have made a good signing, the next step is the responsibility of the coach and his technical bench to keep his squad fit. But let me assure you one thing, this season is ours," said Nugaz
The friendly match, played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, ended with Zanaco winning 2-1
Yanga's goal was scored by striker Heritier Makambo who has returned and continued where he left off two seasons ago
Also other new stars Jesus Moloko, Yannick Bangala, Shabani Djuma, Dickson Ambundo and Fiston Mayele got a chance in the game
Coach Nasreddine Nabi made changes to his squad in the second half including the team changing jerseys
