Ahead of the Kariakoo Derby on October 10, Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has acknowledged that the clash against Yanga will be far from an ordinary match, given the intensity and importance of the fixture.
However, behind his comments lies another key objective: Simba are aiming to use the derby to extend their winning run to seven consecutive victories.
Barker says the team’s preparations have focused on ensuring Simba are ready to fight for the result from the first minute to the last.
“The game on the 10th against Yanga will be a good game, but it will also be difficult. As Simba, we are prepared to make sure we win so that we can make it seven consecutive victories.”
What Has the South Africa Camp Added? Simba have conducted part of their preparations in South Africa, and Barker believes the camp has given the squad something important confidence.
“There is something the camp here in South Africa has added to us. I believe we will go and fight on that day to get the victory.”
Now the big question remains: Will Simba’s South Africa preparations and winning momentum be enough to secure victory over Yanga?
