Yanga head coach Fadlu Davids has expressed his delight at returning to Tanzania for the second time, having joined the Mainland Premier League champions.
Speaking shortly after arriving at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA), Fadlu said joining Yanga was a major opportunity for him and that he was ready to take on the responsibilities entrusted to him.
"I feel very happy. Tanzania is like home to me. The people of this country are welcoming and full of love. I am delighted to be back, especially to join such a big club."
"I received a call from the club president, who explained the project to me. Yanga have enjoyed great success over the past five seasons, and now we want to rebuild the team to sustain those achievements."
"We will improve our style of play and make Yanga even better so that we can continue our success. This is not the first time I have received a call from the president, Engineer Hersi. I think this is the third time. It was simply a matter of timing; everything happens at the right time."
"I am now here and ready for the big responsibilities ahead. I know the season has not been particularly good so far, but we still have the Champions League ahead of us. I am a competitive coach, and I am ready for the challenge."
"People say Yanga are in the Group of Death, but nothing is impossible. Yanga have very good players. When you look at the entire squad, there is quality in every department."
"We will work step by step on the training ground to build our style of play, one that will make us proud and restore the happiness of our fans. We will not rest until we return to the top where we belong," Fadlu said.
