On this day three years ago, Yanga fans witnessed their team make history at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Mkapa Stadium turned into a one-sided spectacle as Yanga SC thrashed Simba SC 5-1 in a match that sparked widespread discussion across Tanzanian football.
Yanga’s goals were scored by Kennedy Musonda, Maxi Nzengeli, who netted twice, Stephane Aziz Ki, and Pacome Zouzoua, who completed the scoring with the fifth goal from the penalty spot.
Maxi, Aziz Ki and Pacome are still part of Yanga’s squad, while Kennedy Musonda has since returned to his native Zambia.
