Nine Yanga players have been called up by their respective national teams for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.
The NBC Mainland Premier League has been suspended for approximately three weeks to accommodate the FIFA international calendar, during which the players will report for national team duty.
Yanga Media and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has confirmed that the nine players have received call-ups from their respective countries.
The Yanga players called up to Tanzania's national team, Taifa Stars, are Ibrahim Bacca, Bakari Mwamnyeto, Dickson Job, Clement Mzize and Seleman Mwalimu.
The foreign-based players heading for international duty are Djigui Diarra (Mali), Peter Shalulile (Namibia), Albert Kangwanda (Zambia) and Hussein Zakuane (Comoros).
With these players away, Kamwe said the club's new head coach will prepare a special training programme for the remaining squad members to ensure they are ready for the matches following the FIFA break.
Kamwe added that the club's leadership will assess the coach's recommendations to determine whether the team can hold a special training camp abroad, giving the new coach an opportunity to implement his plans and improve the squad.
