The NBC Mainland Premier League continues today, with defending champions Yanga set to host Kagera Sugar at KMC Complex.
The match is part of the 10th round of the league and is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. Yanga will clearly take to the pitch with one objective: securing victory to reclaim second place and maintain pressure on their rivals Simba in the title race.
The league is expected to take a break of approximately three weeks to accommodate the FIFA international calendar. Anything other than a win for Yanga could leave their supporters facing a difficult period of banter from their rivals, who have found their form this season.
Yanga interim head coach Simon Dladla has made it clear that his team is determined to secure victory, although he acknowledges that it will not be an easy match.
Kagera Sugar, coached by Cedric Kaze, are fighting to move away from the bottom positions in the standings, meaning they are expected to give Yanga a tough challenge.
Kaze has a history with Yanga, as he prepares to face the club that brought him some of the greatest success of his coaching career.
He had two separate spells at Yanga, first as head coach and later as assistant coach when the team was managed by Nasreddine Nabi.
It promises to be an intense 90 minutes at KMC Complex.
