Yanga SC interim head coach Simon Dladla has predicted a difficult match against Kagera Sugar, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, at KMC Complex, saying their opponents desperately need points in their fight to avoid relegation.
Speaking to journalists earlier today, Dladla said Yanga expect strong resistance from Kagera Sugar because of their position in the league standings, meaning his players must prepare thoroughly for the encounter.
"We expect a difficult match tomorrow because we are facing a team fighting to escape the relegation zone. Therefore, we anticipate strong opposition, similar to what we faced against TRA," Dladla said.
He stressed that despite the expected challenge, Yanga have major ambitions in the title race and do not want to drop points in their remaining league matches.
Dladla said his team's determination is to finish the season in first place, and they will do everything possible to return to the top of the league standings by winning all their remaining matches.
"Yanga are a big club with big ambitions, and our main objective is to finish the league in first place. We will fight with everything we have to return to the top by winning every match ahead of us," he added.
In another development, Dladla has urged Yanga supporters, popularly known as Wananchi, to turn out in large numbers for the match to give the players the encouragement and support they need on the pitch.
He said the technical bench continues to work every day to improve the team's performance and address weaknesses, but stressed that supporters' contribution is an important part of the squad's success.
"My appeal to Yanga supporters is to come out in large numbers and give the team the encouragement and support our players need. We continue working every day to improve the team and address the weaknesses that arise," he said.
He added that having many supporters in the stadium gives players greater morale and motivation to fight, expressing his belief that their backing could be a vital factor in helping the team secure positive results.
