Yanga SC youngster Ibrahim Kazimoto is beginning to show signs of becoming one of the club’s promising talents capable of earning a regular place in the first team, after impressing the club’s coaching staff with his performances.
Yanga youth team coach Mohamed Badru said first-team head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has been impressed by Kazimoto’s ability since he was promoted from the U-20 side.
Badru said Kazimoto possesses some of the qualities required in modern football, including strength, pace, fighting spirit and tactical understanding, which have helped him earn opportunities with the first team.
The coach said promoting young players was part of his plan from the time he joined Yanga, with the aim of seeing at least one or two U-20 players break into the first team this season.
However, Badru cautioned that Kazimoto’s journey is only beginning. He needs to continue developing technically, remain patient amid competition and learn from experienced players in order to reach a higher level.
Kazimoto, who played as a centre-back at youth level, completed all 90 minutes in the Mainland Premier League match against Geita Gold and also featured in the friendly against St George.
