The Women’s Kariakoo Derby between Simba Queens and Yanga Princess in the Community Shield is scheduled to take place today at KMC Complex.
The second semi-final will kick off at 6:00 p.m., following the opening semi-final between JKT Queens and Mashujaa Queens.
In recent seasons, Yanga Princess have struggled whenever they have faced Simba Queens.
This season, Yanga Princess have made a more strategic recruitment drive, adding highly experienced players from various countries.
Today will undoubtedly be their first major test and an early indication for the Wananchi of whether they have assembled a competitive team this season.
Head coach Edna Lema said that although she recognises the quality of their opponents, Simba Queens, her team will go into the match ready to fight, while warning her players not to approach the game as though victory is already guaranteed.
Edna has called on Yanga fans to turn out in large numbers at KMC Complex, promising them a reason to celebrate after the 90 minutes.
