The family of the late Yanga SC member and prominent supporter, Haji Omari Ramadhani Mpili, has thanked Yanga, under President Engineer Hersi Said, for the care and support extended to the deceased throughout his illness until his death.
The family expressed its gratitude yesterday during Mzee Mpili’s funeral, which was held in Ikwiriri, Pwani Region.
Mzee Mpili died on the night of Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Ikwiriri District Health Centre, where he was receiving treatment. He was buried on Monday, September 28, at the Main Mosque Cemetery in Ikwiriri.
Various Yanga officials attended the funeral to pay their final respects, including Executive Committee Member Alexander Ngai, Chief Executive Officer Andre Mtine and Head of Information Ally Kamwe. Hundreds of residents, along with supporters of the country’s major clubs, also took part in the funeral.
Speaking after the burial, Ngai said Mzee Mpili was a member who had dedicated his entire life to supporting and defending Yanga.
The club also presented a condolence contribution of Sh1.1 million, while a group of Black Card members handed over Sh3 million to the bereaved family.
