Yanga SC striker Clement Mzize has been praised for the way he is using his football earnings to build a life beyond the pitch.
Yanga SC Information and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe said Mzize is among the players who appear to have quickly understood the importance of preparing for life after football rather than relying solely on the sport.
The striker has been directing part of the money he earns from football into business and investments, a move that could help him even after he retires from playing.
Kamwe said Mzize has not appeared eager to spend his success on a life of pleasure and luxury, but has instead been thinking about how to build a foundation for his future.
‘If Mzize Were Flashy, He Would Be Changing Cars’
Speaking about how Mzize uses his success, Kamwe gave the example of players who, after earning money, begin competing with one another to show off luxurious lifestyles.
In his view, Mzize has shown a different approach.
“If Mzize were flashy, he would be changing cars by now,” Kamwe said.
His Siblings Have Also Been Given Opportunities
Another aspect highlighted by Kamwe is the way Mzize involves his siblings in managing some of his business activities.
This allows him to continue focusing on his responsibilities at Yanga while his other ventures are being managed.
For a player whose time is largely occupied by training, matches, travel and camps, having trusted family members to help manage his investments can be an important part of his long-term plans.
