Tanzania’s national team, Taifa Stars, will take on Guinea-Bissau at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar on Friday in an AFCON 2027 qualifying match.
For Tanzania, the match will also serve as a test of the team’s readiness ahead of the tournament, which Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda are jointly hosting.
The three host nations already have their places secured, but according to CAF regulations, they will still participate in the group-stage qualifiers.
Yanga stars Bakari Mwamnyeto, Ibrahim Bacca, Mohamed Hussein, Mudathir Yahya and Selemani Mwalimu are expected to be part of head coach Miguel Gamondi’s squad as Taifa Stars take to the field today in search of all three points in their opening match.
