Yanga Princess have continued their preparations for their first competitive match of the season, when they face their traditional rivals Simba Queens in the semi-final of the Women’s Community Shield.
The match, scheduled for September 30, will form part of the opening of the new women’s football season in Tanzania and has generated significant excitement due to the long-standing rivalry between the two Kariakoo sides.
Yanga’s management has made major improvements to the Yanga Princess squad ahead of the new season as part of efforts to increase the team’s competitiveness this campaign.
Under head coach Edna Lema, the squad is continuing preparations at KMC Complex, with the aim of opening the season with a positive result against Simba Queens.
According to the schedule released by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), two Women’s Community Shield semi-finals will be played on September 30.
The first match will see JKT Queens face Mashujaa FC at 3:00pm, before all eyes turn to the Kariakoo clash between Yanga Princess and Simba Queens at 6:00pm.
