Defending NBC Premier League champions Yanga SC return to their title defence today as they aim to reclaim the trophy at Jangwani for a sixth consecutive season when they host Geita Gold at KMC Complex at 7pm.
After successfully progressing from the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, the Wananchi have now shifted their focus back to the league.
Sitting at the top of the league standings, the Wananchi will take to the KMC Complex pitch in search of three crucial points that would ensure they remain at the summit before facing their rivals Simba in their next match after the FIFA international break.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi made it clear that Geita Gold are not an easy team and that he expects to face strong opposition.
However, Mngqithi stressed that his squad is ready for any kind of challenge as they look to win and maintain their position at the top of the table.
Yanga have made a strong start to the season, boasting a 100 percent winning record after winning all five of their opening matches.
Today, they will have the opportunity to extend that record on home soil.
