Yanga striker Cheikh Ibrahima Toure has made it clear that he is not under pressure despite failing to score many goals since joining the club, believing that his time to showcase his quality and delight Yanga fans is still to come.
Toure, who joined Yanga this season from Saudi Arabia, has so far scored one goal in five Mainland Premier League appearances. However, that tally has not caused the striker to become concerned about his form.
“I have no reason to be under pressure because I believe that the more I get used to the Tanzanian football environment and Yanga’s system, the greater my chances of scoring more goals will become,” he said.
Besides discussing his own form, Toure also spoke about his admiration for the level of competition in the Tanzanian Premier League.
The striker said he has been impressed by the league’s intense competition, particularly its physicality, explaining that it has been different from some of the expectations he had before arriving in Tanzania.
Speaking about tomorrow’s CAF Champions League match against Gaborone United at Azam Complex, Toure said they have had good preparations ahead of the game and that he expects Yanga to secure victory and advance to the first round.
