Yanga’s Ivorian attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua is still waiting to receive the 2024/25 Player of the Season (MVP) award, which he believes he deserved despite the continued silence from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF).
The season ended with Yanga successfully defending their league title, with Pacome playing a key role in that achievement. However, the award ceremonies for the past two seasons have yet to be held, raising questions among football stakeholders in the country.
During the 2024/25 season, the Ivory Coast international produced an impressive campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists as he helped Yanga defend the Premier League title for a fourth consecutive season.
Pacome scored the opening goal in the final match of the season against Simba and provided the assist for the second goal, scored by Clement Mzize, as Yanga secured a 2-0 victory.
Speaking at his home yesterday after being visited by Yanga Head of Information and Communications Ali Kamwe, Pacome used the opportunity to question why the awards have still not been presented, seemingly calling on the relevant authorities to provide an explanation for the ongoing delay.
