Yanga SC has officially begun preparations for the construction of its new modern stadium at the historic Jangwani site in Dar es Salaam, with preliminary infrastructure work now underway to pave the way for the major project.
Yanga Head of Information and Communications Ali Kamwe has confirmed that the area around the club’s headquarters is currently being prepared for the construction of temporary facilities.
The facilities will serve as accommodation, a camp, and offices for the contractors and specialists who will oversee the project from the beginning through to completion.
The preparations began after the required construction permits were secured and the joint venture company between Yanga and GSM was officially registered.
Under the commercial partnership agreement, both parties will hold an equal 50 percent share in the joint venture, with the club contributing the land while the investor will finance the entire construction project.
Construction of the stadium is expected to take between 18 and 24 months to complete. Specialists and contractors, including a team from Turkey, have already been seen at the site conducting final land inspections and preparing to commence work immediately.
