Yanga stars Clement Mzize and Dickson Job have been included in the squad that departed Dar es Salaam early today for Botswana ahead of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round first-leg clash against Gaborone United.
The match will be played on Saturday, September 5, in Gaborone at 8:00 p.m. Tanzania time.
After the Yanga squad arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, to connect to their flight to Botswana, Mzize and Job remained in South Africa for medical examinations.
Yanga’s Manager of Information and Communications, Ali Kamwe, confirmed that Mzize and Job will undergo medical assessments to determine whether they have fully recovered from the injuries that kept them out for an extended period.
“Before these players return to their duties, we must be certain that they have fully recovered. We do not want them to be rushed back onto the pitch before they have completely healed,” Kamwe said.
The two stars have returned to the hospital where they previously underwent surgery, and if the examinations confirm that they have fully recovered, they could be seen back in the squad soon.
