Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has made a flying start to his tenure at the club, with his early results suggesting that Yanga president Engineer Hersi Said made the right decision in bringing the South African coach to Tanzania.
Following the completion of the fifth round of the NBC Premier League, Mngqithi has quickly demonstrated his ability to lead Yanga in a season where the Tanzanian champions are aiming to defend their domestic titles.
In the six competitive domestic matches he has overseen, Mngqithi has won all six. During that run, Yanga have scored 16 goals while conceding just two.
NBC Premier League: Yanga Yet to Drop a Point
In the NBC Premier League, Yanga have continued to dominate and sit at the top of the standings after winning all five of their matches.
The team has scored 15 goals in those five matches while conceding just two. The statistics highlight not only Yanga's attacking strength but also the solidity of their defence under Mngqithi.
Another important achievement was the 1-0 victory over Simba in the Community Shield, a result that handed Mngqithi his first trophy at Yanga and saw him begin his journey with a win over their traditional rivals.

After their impressive start in domestic competitions, Mngqithi's biggest challenge will be guiding Yanga into the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Yanga will begin that campaign this Saturday in Botswana, where they will face Gaborone United in the first leg of the competition's preliminary round.
The match will be crucial for Yanga, as a positive result would put them in a strong position ahead of the return leg, which will be played one week later in Dar es Salaam.
Based on his start, Mngqithi has already begun providing answers on the pitch: six matches, six wins, 16 goals scored and only two conceded. Those numbers give every Yanga fan reason to believe that the South African coach's journey could prove highly successful.
