Former Yanga midfielder Khalid Aucho has officially joined Ethiopian club Sidama Bunna FC after terminating his contract with Singida BS.
Aucho has signed a one-year contract with the club and is expected to play an important role in a squad preparing for the challenges of the new season.
Sidama Bunna FC won the Ethiopian Premier League title in the 2025/26 season, an achievement that earned the club a place in this season's CAF Champions League.
Joining Sidama FC gives Aucho an opportunity to continue his football career outside Uganda while returning to a highly competitive environment and gaining another chance to compete in the CAF Champions League.
Yanga fans may perhaps have hoped to see him return to Jangwani, but his age and recurring injury concerns appear to have influenced the club's decision to look elsewhere. Yanga subsequently turned to Congo to sign Fredy Ngoma as part of their efforts to fill the gap left in midfield.
