Yanga left-back Chadrack Boka has made a flying start to the season, delivering performances that have established him as one of the key players in coach Manqoba Mngqithi's squad.
The Congolese defender, whose future at Yanga appeared uncertain last season, has now begun to repay the faith shown in him by the new technical bench with impressive performances on the pitch.
In the three matches he has started this season, Boka has already contributed directly to Yanga's goals, either scoring or providing an assist in each game.
He provided an assist in the Community Shield match against Simba, scored against Namungo FC and then registered another assist against Coastal Union.
Coach Manqoba has expressed his satisfaction with the work being done by the Congolese defender, who has effectively established himself as Yanga's first-choice left-back while also working alongside Mohamed Hussein 'Zimbwe Jr', whom Manqoba has deployed as a winger in some matches.
"He is showing great ability to help the team when attacking, but he is also doing well defensively whenever Yanga loses possession," Manqoba said.
The coach has been particularly impressed by Boka's pace, strength and effective use of his height, qualities that have helped him compete for aerial and physical challenges while also allowing him to recover quickly into his defensive position.
