Yanga head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has warned that their upcoming NBC Premier League clash against JKT Tanzania could be tougher than the matches they have played so far this season.
Speaking to the media ahead of Monday's match at KMC Complex, Mngqithi said JKT Tanzania's results in their opening two matches do not reflect the quality of the team, while also praising head coach Ahmed Ali for the work he has done.
"In my view, JKT Tanzania are a very good team. I don't think the results they have achieved in their previous matches reflect the quality of their team. Coach Ahmed Ali has done a good job."
"They have many creative players and are a team that appears to be developing quickly. We need to approach them with great focus," Mngqithi said.
Speaking about his team's preparations, Mngqithi said that despite not having enough time to prepare, his players are ready to maintain their strong start to the season.
Mngqithi has urged Yanga fans to turn out in large numbers and continue motivating his players, whom he promised would fight to give them something to celebrate.
The South African coach said his team has yet to reach the level of performance he wants because of the limited preparation time, but he believes that with the support of the fans, the players can raise their level and secure victory.
Mngqithi also confirmed that Yanga will continue to be without the services of Dickson Job and Clement Mzize, who are recovering from long-term injuries, while the rest of the squad is available for the match.
