Yanga SC Information and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe has urged the club’s members and supporters to turn out in large numbers at KMC Complex tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, 2026, when Yanga play their first home NBC Premier League match against Coastal Union.
Kamwe said that despite Yanga making major signings during the recent transfer window, the support of the fans remains crucial in motivating the team and inspiring the players to fight for the club’s badge.
In a post on his social media account, Kamwe stressed that Yanga’s success cannot depend solely on the quality of the squad, but also requires the involvement of members and supporters by filling the stadium and passionately cheering on the team.
“There is no YANGA championship without us, the members and supporters. Filling the stadium and raising our voices to cheer the players is OUR RESPONSIBILITY,” Kamwe wrote.
Kamwe also called on supporters to move on from the celebrations and begin the hard work of pursuing Yanga’s quest to win a sixth consecutive league title.
He said Yanga branches across Dar es Salaam should mobilise among themselves and ensure supporters turn out in large numbers at KMC Complex to give the team the backing it needs as they chase their first three home points.
Meanwhile, Kamwe reminded supporters that tickets for the match are available through the new ticket-purchasing system announced by the Premier League Board.
He added that Yanga’s Information and Membership Department will begin educating members on how to purchase tickets using mobile phones, while urging those who have already used the system to assist others in obtaining their tickets.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. at KMC Complex, with Yanga aiming to begin their home campaign with a victory over Coastal Union.
