Yanga President Engineer Hersi Said has heaped praise on the club’s Manager for Information and Communications, Ally Kamwe, for the creativity that contributed to the success of the historic unveiling ceremony for attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, popularly known as “X-Factor.”
The unique unveiling event, held on August 15, 2026, at KMC Complex in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam, set a new record in Tanzania by filling the stadium for an event dedicated solely to the unveiling of a single player.
Speaking after the event’s success, Engineer Hersi said the strategies and excitement generated by the communications department under Kamwe had continued to demonstrate that Yanga are a leading club in modern marketing and brand innovation across East and Central Africa.
Various football stakeholders highlighted three major achievements by Ally Kamwe during the event:
- Modern Creativity: Organising a night-time spectacle with an international feel that attracted thousands of fans to the stadium without a competitive match taking place.
- Revenue Growth: Turning the unveiling into a commercial opportunity by charging fans for entry, thereby generating additional revenue for the club.
- Brand Influence: Generating significant excitement and enthusiasm among the “Wananchi” both online and offline within a short period after the arrival of “X-Factor” was announced.
During the entertainment-filled ceremony, Aziz Ki was officially presented with his beloved number 10 shirt. The celebrations even saw Engineer Hersi join the stage and perform the popular “Kishalulile” celebration dance, sparking huge cheers and excitement among the large crowd of fans who had filled the venue.
