NBC Premier League giants Yanga SC have confirmed the sale of their Ugandan attacking midfielder, Allan Okello, to Moroccan club AS FAR Rabat for a reported fee of around TSh 3 billion.
The move comes alongside the club’s official unveiling of former midfielder and fan favourite Stephane Aziz Ki, who returns to fill Okello’s position.
Yanga accepted the offer from the Moroccan giants after Okello enjoyed an impressive season last year, scoring 14 goals and establishing himself as a key player for the team.
AS FAR won the race for the left-footed playmaker’s signature ahead of rivals Wydad Casablanca, who were also pursuing the midfielder. Okello will reunite with Pedro Goncalves, who joined Yanga in January.
Okello has already said his goodbyes to his teammates and is expected to travel to Rabat for a medical examination before signing a three-year contract.
To fill the void without weakening the squad, Yanga’s management, under President Engineer Hersi Said, have made a major move in the transfer market by bringing back Stephane Aziz Ki from Libya’s Al-Ittihad Tripoli.
The Burkina Faso international, who was the NBC Premier League’s top scorer in the 2023/24 season with 21 goals, has returned to the squad after Yanga bought out his contract in Libya.
Aziz Ki was officially unveiled yesterday in a special event held at KMC Complex, where the venue was packed with Yanga supporters in a “Full House” atmosphere.
Yanga President Engineer Hersi Said welcomed Aziz Ki back to Jangwani while also wishing Okello all the best at his new club.
