Yanga Eye New No. 10 as Transfer Window Deadline Approaches

After witnessing the climax of Mwananchi Week two days ago, many stakeholders highlighted weaknesses in Yanga’s attacking midfield, particularly the lack of a natural No. 10.

Yanga did not sign a natural No. 10 during this transfer window, leaving Allain Okello as their only option in that position. However, the player is reportedly being pursued by a European club.

Sources within Yanga’s management have revealed that an offer worth up to TSh 2 billion has been made for Okello. If Yanga manage to complete the signings they are targeting, they could also consider selling Okello.

It is now understood that Yanga’s plan is to sign another No. 10 before the transfer window closes, and they could potentially bring in more than one player for the position.

After missing out on Stephane Aziz Ki, whose contract with Al Ittihad has proved difficult to terminate because of the terms included in the agreement, Yanga turned their attention back to Azam FC attacking midfielder Feisal Salum ‘Fei Toto’.

It is understood that Yanga’s interest in signing Fei Toto remains unchanged, although they have yet to reach an agreement with his club, Azam FC, over the transfer fee.

Transfer-market rumours suggest that Yanga and Fei Toto have already reached an agreement on personal terms. The initial plan was to unveil the star on Sunday during Yanga Day, but by the time of the event, an agreement between Yanga and Azam FC had still not been reached.

Yanga also eye Suleyman Fofana

Yanga are also reportedly in talks with the representatives of talented ASEC Mimosas midfielder Suleyman Fofana over a potential move to the Tanzanian champions.

Should they reach an agreement, Yanga could submit an offer to ASEC Mimosas to sign the highly rated midfielder and strengthen their attacking midfield options.

Meanwhile, the plan to sign Taifa Stars midfielder Alphonse Mabula remains alive. It is understood that one or two more signings could be unveiled in the remaining days of the transfer window.
