Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam is expected to be packed today as thousands of Yanga fans flock to the venue for the climax of the eighth edition of Mwananchi Week, popularly known as βYanga Dayβ.
Entertainment and various activities will take place throughout the day, adding excitement to the major celebration for Yanga fans and members.
Today's celebrations will feature musical performances from some of Tanzania's leading artists. Performers including Dudubaya, Madee, Chid Benz, Ndaro and Kidensa are expected to take the stage and entertain the crowd.
Before the main event, there will be a series of curtain-raiser matches involving former Yanga players, Yanga staff, artists and youth teams.
The biggest attraction of the festival will be the official unveiling of Yanga SC's full squad for the 2026/27 competitive season.
Fans will have the opportunity to see the club's new signings live, as well as the technical bench tasked with defending the domestic title and competing strongly on the international stage.
Yanga will also complete their transfer business today by unveiling a major new signing. The club's officials have been speaking about the arrival of a high-profile player throughout the week, and the day has finally arrived.
The entertainment will culminate in a high-profile international friendly, with historic champions Yanga SC taking on Congolese side Les Aigles du Congo from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The match is viewed as the first major test for coach Manqoba Mngqithi and his players ahead of Wednesday's Community Shield clash against Simba.
Yanga's Information and Communications Manager has urged fans to arrive early and wear the club's new green and yellow jerseys to showcase the size and strength of one of Tanzania's most widely supported clubs.
